After cleansing with The Remnant Homestead Shampoo, apply conditioner to clean, wet hair, focusing on the mid-lengths and ends. Gently work through with your fingers or a wide-tooth comb. Allow to sit for 1–3 minutes (or longer if desired), then rinse thoroughly with warm water. For finer hair, begin with a small amount and adjust as needed.

A Closer Look at Our Conditioning Ingredients
What Is BTMS-50, and Why Do We Use It?
You may notice an ingredient called BTMS-50 in our conditioner and wonder what exactly it is. We believe you deserve to know what goes into the products you use, so we're happy to explain!
BTMS-50 is a conditioning and emulsifying blend commonly used in quality hair care products. Its main conditioning component, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, helps smooth the hair's surface, reduce static, and make tangles easier to work through.
Despite the word methosulfate in its name, it is not the same as sulfate cleansing ingredients such as Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS). BTMS-50 is used to condition hair, not strip it.
The blend also contains fatty alcohols, which may sound concerning if you're unfamiliar with them. However, fatty alcohols are very different from drying alcohols such as ethanol. They help give conditioner its creamy texture while contributing to a soft, smooth feel.

We wanted a conditioner that delivers real softness and manageability without relying on silicones. BTMS-50 helps us achieve that beautiful conditioning feel while complementing the botanical oils and other carefully selected ingredients in our formula.
Unlike some products that emphasize long ingredient lists or trendy marketing claims, our approach is to focus on what each ingredient actually contributes.
We don't believe an ingredient should be judged simply because its name sounds unfamiliar. What matters is its purpose, how it's formulated, and how the finished product performs.
